1. Introduction

WordBinder ("we," "us," "our") provides a content operations platform for SEO teams. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect when you use our website and services, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

By using WordBinder, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored as a one-way hash). When you create or join a workspace, we collect the workspace name and your role.

Site information

When you add a site to WordBinder, we collect the domain, your service area, vertical pack selection, and the intake-questionnaire answers you provide for the per-vertical skill (typical pricing, license details, brand voice notes, competitors, and similar context). You provide this information voluntarily; it powers the briefs and drafts we generate for you.

Usage data

We log routine application data: pages visited, features used, error events, IP addresses, browser type, and approximate location derived from IP. We use this for product analytics, debugging, and abuse prevention.

Crawled content

For sites you have verified ownership of, we crawl publicly accessible pages on your domain to build a content index. We store the page content, structural metadata (headings, links, word counts), and computed embeddings used by our linking and refresh features. We do not crawl pages disallowed by robots.txt or pages requiring authentication.

Payment information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details. We store a Stripe customer identifier and a subscription identifier so we can manage your account state.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use limited analytics cookies (first-party or privacy-respecting providers) to understand product usage. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

3. How we use information

  • To provide the WordBinder service — generating briefs, drafts, refresh recommendations, and link suggestions for your verified sites
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions
  • To communicate with you about your account, the service, and material changes
  • To send transactional emails (verification, password resets, weekly digests if you've opted in)
  • To improve the product and the per-vertical skills based on aggregated usage patterns
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your account or site data to train models for any third party.

4. Third-party services we share information with

WordBinder uses the following third-party services to operate. Each handles a specific subset of data and is bound by their own privacy practices:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Anthropic (Claude API) — generation of briefs and drafts. Page intake context, SERP analysis, and the relevant per-vertical skill content are sent to Anthropic with each generation request. Anthropic does not train on data submitted via the API.
  • DataForSEO — SERP analysis and rank tracking. Target keywords and configured locations are sent; site content is not.
  • Mailjet — transactional email delivery
  • Cloud hosting and CDN providers — for application infrastructure

We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. After you cancel, we retain account records for up to 90 days, then delete them, except where longer retention is required by law or necessary for resolving disputes.

Crawled site content and generated briefs are retained for the duration of your subscription. After cancellation, you have 30 days to export. Then they are deleted.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for sensitive data, hashed passwords, restricted access to production systems, and regular security review. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If we discover a security incident affecting your account, we will notify you within the timeframe required by applicable law.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@wordbinder.com.

8. Children's privacy

WordBinder is not intended for individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe we have collected information from someone under 16, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. International transfers

WordBinder operates from the United States. If you access the service from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be communicated by email or through the application before they take effect. The "Effective date" at the top of this document indicates when the current version was published.
